Why Are Blueberries So Nutritious?



Blueberries are high in antioxidants which protect the body from damaging free radicals. Blueberries are one of the fruits with the most antioxidants per serving. In particular, blueberries contain the antioxidant anthocyanin. Anthocyanin is thought to increase the potency of vitamin C as well as protect the body against inflammation that damages collagen and the nervous system. Blueberries are also sometimes know as "brain berries" because they help protect the brain from aging.
